Julia Pearl is the founder of the PEARL Wellness Program, a holistic approach to achieving optimum health and well being. Julia is best described as a wellness lifestyle consultant. She has been teaching and coaching in the fitness field for over 15 years. She inspires and motivates audiences and students by giving them practical tools so they can feel happier and be healthier. Julia is a certified personal trainer through the prestigious American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as well as a 5,000 hour certified and registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. Her coaching extends into a vast knowledge of holistic nutrition and she integrates this knowledge into helping her clients with a healthy approach to food and body image.
Julia believes in the power of combining the best of Eastern philosophy with Western training to help her students and clients achieve optimum physical and spiritual health. A former radio talk show host of 'On Balance' where she interviewed Marianne Williamson, John Robbins, Howard Lyman and others, Julia uses her personal story and unique training principals to empower her clients to take charge of their health and live life to the fullest!
Julia's realistic version of holistic living includes raising three athletic sons with her husband of 16 years while maintaining a busy schedule teaching, coaching, writing and speaking on living life at your physical and spiritual best. An inspiring leader and speaker, Julia's life philosophy is "Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it."

I just wanted to send you an email to let you know how much I not only enjoyed this past session of bootcamp, but how much I'm totally falling for yoga!!!  I can honestly say you are the BEST instructor that I have ever had for a fitness class. I completely appreciate your ability to give us all "options" in case we have an injury or are just not on level yet.  I can't wait for TRX!
I have only taken 3 yoga classes so far, but I can't believe how flexible I'm getting already! Before starting bootcamp and yoga with Julia I felt a lack of energy, had little patience with my family, and was generally in a "funk".  I decided that I was going to finally do something positive for myself and made a pledge to complete the 5 week bootcamp in its entirety with NO EXCUSES.... and I succeeded, never missing one day in 10 weeks!!!!!  I also integrated yoga 2 days a week which complimented the bootcamp perfectly!!!  It's amazing when you dedicate 1 hour a day to yourself how much positive energy and motivation are carried throughout all facets of life.  As a mother and wife I always put everyone else before myself, but in the end I realized not only was I cheating myself, I was cheating them of having the best mother and wife I could possibly be.  I also took Julia's advice and implemented some changes to my diet.... I exchanged my daily coffee for green tea, omitted meat (except for seafood on occasion), no artificial sweeteners, no processed food, and ate 5 small meals a day .  It's amazing how wonderful I feel changing my diet, I can honestly say I feel like I have never eaten so much (fresh veges and fruit, whole grains, tofu, etc) and am losing weight and inches while doing it!!!! And if I want the occasion piece of chocolate or cake, I eat it!!!! In the first 5 weeks of the bootcamp I lost almost 11 inches and the 2nd 5 week session I lost 4.5. So I lost nearly 16 inches in 10 weeks!!!! I was so amazed at my own results and as cliche as it sounds, If I can do it, anyone can do it!!!!! My advice, which I took from Julia, is stop focusing so much on weight!! I lost 11 inches in the first 5 weeks and only about 6 pounds!!! It is so important to remember that muscle weighs more than fat and focusing on the weight just creates a negative mindset.  Also yoga is such and incredible practice to add to your work out routine.... I encourage anyone to try it and not be intimidated!! Everyone is at different levels and you will be amazed at how quickly you progress and the effect it has on your mind, body, and soul!!!! I strive to work out 6 days a week for an hour a day, and it by no means has to be grueling.... On Saturday mornings my husband and I take the girls for a 5 mile walk (the kids bike); this gives us an opportunity to catch up on the weeks events.  It's amazing when you start loving yourself and taking care of your body how much positive energy and love you have to give others!!!

Yes, my body has been transformed since working out with Julia. But that’s what I expected, results. Hello Julia!

My family and I traveled to Flagstaff yesterday to hike down into the lava tubes/ice caves a few miles outside of town (at my suggestion). Little did I know what I was getting myself into.....it was much like climbing down a jetty only instead of being by the ocean, you were going down into a pitch black cave. It was a great temperature (about 45 degrees) and refreshing, but I soon realized that I was on the outer edge of my comfort zone. Frankly, for a normal person, it is a really fun and invigorating experience, but for an awkward cream puff like myself, it was a challenge.

Anyhow, as I moved like a turtle over the rocks and balanced a flashlight in one hand and my body on each step, I could feel the "freak out" nature starting to take over...and there's not a lot of options. It's pitch black and cold. Plus little kids were practically running past me! Well, I used your yoga techniques to focus my mind, your balancing practice on every single step, and belly breathing to help calm me down and to remember that this notion was my idea---and that I really did want to do it show my spirit that I could. It turned out to be a great day.

Thank you so much! Who knew that your influence could reach all the way down a lava tube?!?!?!?
